Arrival and Dismissal Policy

Arrival and Dismissal

Students will not arrive at school before 7:20 a.m. Students will sit in the lunchroom until the bell rings. At 7:40 a.m. all K & 1st grade students will go to the library until the bell rings at 8:00 a.m. The tardy bell rings at 8:10 a.m. After the first week of school, please do not walk your children to class. There will be teachers in the hall to make sure that your children get to their rooms on time.

The first dismissal bell rings at 3:00 p.m. The students who walk to school will be dismissed. All other students will go to the lunchroom. They will wait in the lunchroom until their names are called. Teachers will begin calling the car riders’ names at 3:05. All students will be given 2 signs with their names on them. If you are picking up your children please put one of the signs on the dashboard (passenger side) so that the teacher on duty will know who to call.

Please remain in your car. You will be directed to go to the end of the driveway. Your children will come to your car. If you choose, you may park your car and wait for your children on the front porch. Please park in an area other than the driveway. Make sure your children know whether they should walk to your car or if you will be waiting for them on the front porch. Please make sure that your children’s teachers know how they are getting home.

Late to School

Promptness is one of the many desirable characteristics the school is helping the parents to develop in students’ formative years. A student who is tardy misses the teacher’s initial directions for the day’s activities, which is vital to his/her daily achievement. Chronic tardies will be reported to Student Services for investigation.

All tardy students must be signed in at the office by a parent upon arrival. A student who is tardy will not be eligible for perfect attendance.
